Professional shoes can be worn anywhere where safety shoes are not required. In contrast to safety shoes, for example, they provide no toe protections. But there are also requirements that they must meet to adhere to the European standard EN ISO 20347. Among the basic requirements damp-resistance, optimum foot stability and anti-slip soles in accordance with SRA, SRB or SRC/SR.
Professional shoes equipped with the basis requirements belong to the OB safety level. The heel area may be open.
Class O1 professional shoes must have a closed heel. Anti-static properties and energy absorption capacity in the heel area are obligatory. If the shoes are water-resistant for at least 60 minutes, they belong in safety class O2.
