Wash technical clothing without fabric softener, always follow the care label instructions when drying and ironing, and reapply the water-repellent treatment in good time as soon as water no longer beads up and rolls off visibly.
Washing:
- Do not use fabric softener: it builds up on the fibres, making them water-repellent and thus hindering moisture transport.
- In items with a dryplexx® membrane, the pores can become clogged, significantly impairing breathability and comfort.
Drying:
- Always follow the care label.
- Do not tumble-dry items suitable for tumble-drying on the lowest setting until completely dry.
Gentle heat can reactivate the water-repellent finish and improve the beading effect.
Ironing:
- Functional fabrics with a climate membrane: iron at a low temperature, without steam, using a towel or thin cloth between the iron and the outer fabric.
- Fleece: do not iron; shake out after a delicate wash and hang to dry.
Waterproofing:
- Re-waterproof when water no longer beads off and the outer fabric becomes saturated or darker.
- Rule of thumb: after about three uses in the rain or when heavily soiled; ideally after every wash.
- Use waterproofing spray sparingly: spray on thinly and evenly; layers that are too thick can cause fibres to stick together and reduce breathability.
